Benchmark Games with Electronic Coin Mechs.

Symptom: Coin-up, ticket payout, and logic problems that seem difficult to diagnose.
Solution: The coin switches need to be wired to the ‘normally open’ position.

The same applies to their newer games like Monster Drop that use electronic coin mechs. If the switch on the electronic coin mech gets switched from normally open to normally closed, it causes false reads with the logic circuits of the game and causes coin up and ticket payout problems.

For example, on Wheel Deal 3 Pl, having any of the 3 coin switches on normally closed will prevent the game from going into programming mode. On multiple station games, the symptoms can appear in any bay of the game, even one where the coin switch is set correctly. So if you get peculiar symptoms of these types, check to be sure all the coin switches are set properly. This will save you hours of troubleshooting.

Speed Up Electronic Ticket payout time on EMBED System (Paul Sawinski, Alpha Tech)

If you have the EMBED System and allow dual type tickets (Electronic and Paper), we have figured out a way to speed up the electronic ticket payout….We changed the setting on the controller (Game Tkt. Notch Spacing (x10ms)) from the default setting of 24, to the setting of 1 and tested this on Big Bass Wheel and Wheel Deal Extreme and it works great. The correct amount of paper tickets pays out and the electronic tickets transfer almost immediately without the customer having to wait for the electronic tickets to spool to the swiper. This even works with the 5000 ticket bonus on our linked Big Bass Wheel’s. I called EMBED and talked to Anna and told her of our findings. She conferred with the hardware people and told me that it will probably work on the newer games but not all…..so we will be testing this on a game by game basis.
