When Tom Head and his wife Christiane decided to open The Wow Factory, they were determined to do it right. “We wanted to create something unique to South Florida, unlike any other family entertainment center,”’ said Tom. Tom spent more than two years researching and visiting FECs around the country. He attended Foundations Entertainment University and the IAAPA Expo. His research led him to AEM’s Jerry Merola, who he then brought onboard as a consultant. It was important to Tom to make sure The Wow Factory had every element a parent would want in a family fun center, all in a clean and safe environment.

When The Wow Factory opened on June 7, 2012 it was an instant hit with both parents and kids. While the target demographic is kids ages 4-14, The Wow Factory offers participatory games and attractions for all ages. Among other attractions, it features the largest Ropes Course and BallocityTM in Southern Florida. BallocityTM, a custom themed, three-story attraction, features interactive blasters, vacuums, cannons and buckets that propel, throw, raise, vacuum and dump thousands of foam balls promoting interaction between guests. The Sky TrailTM Elevated Ropes Course challenges guests to traverse a 20’ high, 42’long and 64’ wide course while harnessed in a closed tracking safety system. Parents and kids can also participate in Lazer Frenzy that combines the high-tech excitement of interactive lasers with LED technology. There’s also a two-level Laser Tag attraction with a 24-vest system, and a 28’ tall Wow Mountain Adventure Climbing Wall. The Wow Factory’s arcade boasts over 50 of the latest video and redemption games and features a card swipe system eliminating the need for tokens or tickets. The Nuts & Bolts Eatery offers a chef-inspired menu of family favorites including pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers and other items served in attractive surroundings which includes flat screen televisions. Beer and wine are available and there is free Wi-Fi for guests. Awbrey’s Sweet Shop offers treats including candy, ice cream, slushies and cotton candy. The Wow Factory’s four party rooms can accommodate groups of up to 200 people for birthday and other parties.

The Wow Factory epitomizes overall excellence in the family entertainment industry. What sets it apart from other fun centers is the numbers of participative play elements. A visit to The Wow Factory offers an active, healthy, and physical play experience, something parent and kids both appreciate. In addition, the ability for both adults and children to play together makes The Wow Factory a true family experience. “Parents tell us all the time that their kid are worn out when they get home,” said Tom, “they love it!” The Wow Factory’s food is another feature that sets it apart from other venues. The Wow Factory was purposefully designed to offer a higher quality atmosphere and presentation. Both the décor and menu have received rave reviews from guests. We are pleased to nominate The Wow Factory for the 2013 Excellence In Family Entertainment Center Awards.
